Yard Inventory Manager

Job Description

Accentuate Staffing is assisting a growing and busy steel storage company who is hiring a Yard Inventory Manager to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity offering excellent benefits and growth potential. This position will manage inventory, material movement, staging, shipping, and a team of 15+ employees while ensuring orders are accurate, traceable, and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage a team of 15+ employees in a fast-paced yard environment.
\n
• Oversee the receipt, identification, storage, movement, staging, and shipment of steel parts and materials.
\n
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure physical inventory matches system records.
\n
• Monitor orders, shipping schedules, inventory levels, and on-time delivery performance.
\n
• Coordinate with customers, transportation, quality, production, and other departments to resolve issues.
\n
• Ensure proper material identification, traceability, documentation, and compliance with customer requirements.
\n
• Use inventory and operating systems, Excel, and other data to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
\n
• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

\n
• Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, yard, logistics, or industrial environments.
\n
• Experience managing inventory, material flow, shipping, and receiving.
\n
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
\n
• Comfortable working with inventory/operating systems, WMS, and Microsoft Excel.
\n
• Ability to work in an outdoor/non-climate-controlled industrial yard environment.
\n
• Experience with steel products, material traceability, or government contracts is a plus.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
