Job Summary

A growing manufacturing and operations team in Fremont, CA is seeking a Buyer II, Jr. Buyer for a temp-to-hire opportunity in the electronics, components, and semiconductor manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for a purchasing professional with 1 to 2 years of experience who is ready to contribute to material procurement, vendor coordination, purchase order management, and production support.

The Buyer II, Jr. Buyer will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where purchasing decisions directly support production continuity, cost control, delivery performance, and quality goals. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working cross-functionally with engineering and production teams, and building vendor relationships in a hands-on manufacturing setting. Candidates can expect a collaborative workplace with supportive leadership, opportunities to expand procurement knowledge, and exposure to capital equipment, fabricated materials, ERP systems, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Place and revise purchase orders based on requisitions, production needs, and other approved purchasing inputs.
- Expedite open orders, resolve delivery delays, and help prevent material shortages, backlogs, and production interruptions.
- Manage discrepant materials and coordinate vendor follow-up to support quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new sources for purchased materials, including fabricated materials and capital equipment-related items.
- Partner with production and engineering teams on bill of materials, fabrication drawings, material changes, and purchasing requirements.
- Support vendor activities focused on improving delivery performance, achieving quality goals, and reducing overall material costs.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $26 to $30 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.

- Background check required.
- Overtime may be required.
