Employee must perform and demonstrate understanding of materials taught during training. Individual in this role will provide good customer service and contribute to the overall mission of NYOS Charter School. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Experience working with children and adults. Excellent communication skills: bilingual Spanish preferred. Obtain the Texas Food Handler certification prior to start date. Experience working with Point of Sale (POS) systems, ExpressPoint experience preferred. FAST PASS fingerprint background check clearance Professional Responsibilities and Duties Ability to read recipes and production records. Prepare and serve high quality food in compliance with the USDA Child Nutrition Regulations. Replenish and serves meals efficiently and quickly. Follow all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations to include properly restocking, clean, and rotate stock in all food and non-food storage areas. Ensure accurate counting and claiming within the District POS system to maintain compliance with menus in ordinance with Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). Participate in all clean up duties, including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping the kitchen and related storage areas. Follow all safety procedures to promote a safe and efficient kitchen for every employee. Safely operate, clean, and sanitize all large and small equipment, including dish machine and dish room area. Be courteous in all dealings with parents, students, and employees. Display acceptable professional and ethical standards, including confidentiality, courtesy, cooperation, positive attitude, reliability, punctuality, accuracy, efficiency, timeliness, and respectfulness toward others. Represent NYOS Charter School in a positive way on and off duty. Be familiar with and follow all FERPA (Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws and requirements.
