Role Description The Construction Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based at Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD. This position oversees daily field operations on government general construction projects, including coordination of labor, subcontractors, and materials to ensure work progresses according to schedule and specifications. The superintendent monitors jobsite safety, conducts inspections, and enforces compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies. The role includes reviewing plans, sequencing work, resolving field issues, and communicating with project managers, clients, and inspectors to keep stakeholders informed. The superintendent also tracks progress, supports quality control, assists with cost control, and prepares daily reports and documentation related to construction activities.

Qualifications

• 5 years of commercial construction experience. Preferably in Government, medical or Laboratory spaces.

• 5 years experience as a Commercial Superintendent. Preferably working on public/government projects

-Safety training, minimum OSHA 30.

-be able to read drawings, plans.

-communicate effectively.

-write clearly and communicate via phone, email.

-comfortable working on a computer, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

-have experience in multiple trades and speak knowledgeably about general construction.

-Clean criminal history.

-US CITIZEN.

Superintendent's Daily Responsibilities

• conduct daily safety inspections prior to work commencing.

• perform daily tailgate safety meetings prior to work commencing.

• draft detailed daily reports.

• complete weekly QC/QA checklist.

• Oversee multiple trades including mechanical, electrical, structural steel, controls, civil and architectural.

• Maintain project schedule and prepare 2 week lookaheads for progress meetings.

• Address field issues, draft RFIs and assist office with changer orders.

-40 hours a week and some rare weekend work if required.
