Pay or shift range: $38.46 USD to $43.25 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons. Description Salary Range: $38.46 – $43.25/ hr. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Underwrite residential mortgage loans for sale in the secondary market, as well as portfolio mortgages, home equity loans/lines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Underwrite Conventional mortgage loans pursuant to secondary market guidelines. Underwrite home equity loans and lines, providing approvals within stipulated time frames. Underwrite FHA, USDA, VA and residential construction loans (after satisfactory transition period) Develop and maintain expert knowledge base related to underwriting requirements of correspondent lending partners (investors). Develop and maintain good working relationships with bank loan originators, sales staff and processors. Update retail lending policies and operating procedures when necessary. Assure proper maintenance of information in Credit and Legal Documentation Files. Ensure the bank is meeting compliance requirements for the residential lending business. Maintain strong knowledge base on Bank Policies, Laws and Regulations that govern residential mortgage lending. Prepare and issue commitment letters and provide to Loan Officers. Active participation in demonstrating the behaviors outlined in the GRB Experience. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience underwriting mortgage loans and retail lending credit analysis, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Active CHUMS # required (may be obtained after satisfactory training/ transition period) SAR ID# and SONYMA experience preferred. Expert knowledge with FHA regulations and underwriting guidelines. Knowledge and experience in the secondary market arena. Knowledge of Fannie Mae DU, Freddie Mac LP, and GUS. COMPETENCIES: Provide a remarkable client experience.
