Job Posting Title: Special Security Representative Hiring Department: Applied Research Laboratories Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt from FLSA Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Location: PICKLE RESEARCH CAMPUS Purpose Assist the Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in maintenance of security standards and compliance of requirements set forth in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Intelligence Community Directives, DoD 5105.21 and/or DoDM 5205.07 series manuals for specific projects. Responsibilities Assists the CSSO in performing personnel security tasks including but not limited to: coordinate and submit program access requests; maintain personnel files; make required reports to cognizant security agencies (CSA); maintain access rosters; visitor control and meeting coordination. Performs functions needed for the maintenance of special programs under the CSSO’s portfolio. Initiate and track security actions required by government regulation, approved standard operating procedures and CSSO guidance. Assist in auditing and monitoring of local security policy for special programs. Conduct self-inspections, respond to sponsor inquiries and review related documents for accuracy and completeness. Assist PIs in meeting security administrative requirements. Administer compliant security education, training and awareness, and update records accordingly. Assists the CSSO in performing information security tasks including but not limited to: document control, security log maintenance and file retention; incident investigation and reporting; CDRL tracking and management; standard operating procedure monitoring and enforcement. Develops classified information inventory, tracking and data transfer procedures within special programs information system. Assists the CSSO in performing physical/technical security tasks including but not limited to: maintain access lists; coordinate alarm response and investigation; perform random inspections; coordinate alarm testing and maintenance. Assists the CSSO in developing security plans and tracking POAM actionsnecessary for meeting government compliance requirements. Assists in coordination actions required to obtain approval for construction and modification of secure working space. Other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications HS/GED. Seven years of related experience with two years providing security support in a classified Department of Defense (DoD), special access program (SAP), and/or sensitive compartmented information (SCI) environment. Strong communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving skills; self-motivated with ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects; and ability to work with people in a team environment. Demonstrated experience with database management and workflow software. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. US Citizen. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Five years of experience providing administrative security support in special access and/or sensitive compartmented information environments. Two years assisting a Facility Security Officer (FSO), or CSSO. Knowledge of Special Access and Sensitive Compartmented Information programs and government regulations. Current eligibility for access to classified information at the level required for this position.
