Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift

The Forklift Operator is primarily responsible for accurately and safely loading trucks and transporting glass throughout the facility. You will work in a cross-functional environment with our management team to meet daily shipping requirements and provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

Essential Functions:

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices, and guidelines
• Inspect racks for quality and verify the product is loaded accurately to meet or exceed Cardinal and customer expectations
• Safely operate powered equipment while transporting glass throughout the facility and loading and unloading products
• Ensure the driving zone is clear from debris or hazards by maintaining a clean work environment
• Operate manipulator to pack glass into wooden crates, if necessary
• Ensure all rejected glass is dumped into recycling bins
• Utilize handheld scanners when loading trailers to create bill of lading
• Communicate with IG department to stage racks required for production
• Utilize the wrap machine or occasionally shrink-wrap racks manually
• Willingness to seek out additional roles and responsibilities within your department
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively, ensuring all radio calls are answered
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• May be required to work overtime, different shifts, and perform additional tasks to meet company needs and deadlines

Workplace Environment:

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects
• Noise level can be high and will vary based on location in the plant
• May be required to move racks and rejected glass indoor and outdoor

Prior Experience/Qualifications:

• At least two years of sit-down forklift experience is required
• Solid Work History - Manufacturing or warehousing experience, preferred
• May be required to move racks and rejected glass indoor and outdoor

• Vision

• Occasionally stand/walk for extended time
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 40lbs
• Occasionally bend to floor/reach to 67 inches/climb 10 inches
• Occasionally push/pull up to 60 lbs
• Occasionally grip up to 60lbs
• Occasionally pinch 10 lbs

Shift: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 2:30 PM-11:00 PM

Pay: $20.00/hour + $1.00 Shift Differential Bonus - Potential Monthly Profit Sharing for all Shifts
