Supervisor - Mental Health Research (CREER)
The Supervisor - Mental Health Research (CREER) will work closely with the Research Center Manager, Department Chair and partners to help coordinate and support research grants. The position is responsible for and is critically important to the overall operational management of clinical research activities. The incumbent will assist the principal investigator (PI) in implementing a diverse portfolio of research activities for one or more studies which may include multicenter clinical trials, local investigator-initiated clinical trials, and/or programmatic clinical research activities, such as a clinical database and biorepository. Within these efforts, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring IRB approval and compliance, assisting post-award with subcontract generation, submission and management of vendor and consultant contracts, supervising staff overseeing subject recruitment, enrollment, data collection, and maintenance of data and data systems.
The full salary range for this position is $84,100 - $154,700 annually. However, the expected pay for this position is up to $101,750 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. - Required
Advanced degree. - Preferred
Bachelor's degree with coursework in Psychology (or a related field such as Sociology) and Statistics. - Preferred
Experience Requirements
4 - 7 years of related experience. - Required
Experience conducting statistical analyses and writing up research findings using SPSS, SAS, R, or a comparable statistical software package. - Preferred
Experience conducting qualitative analysis and writing up research findings using Dedoose, NVivo, or a comparable software package. - Preferred
Experience with grant application procedures, and personnel documentation, preferably with UC. - Preferred
A minimum five years of experience including three years of lead/supervisory experience or equivalent combination of experience/training - Preferred
Experience in risk management regarding study subjects, federal and non-federal sponsors and regulating bodies. - Preferred
Previous supervisory/managerial experience. - Preferred
Certification Requirements
Clinical Trial Professional certification from a professional society within one year in position. - Required
Minimum Requirements
Working knowledge of clinical or laboratory research, clinical trial recruitment, eligibility, protocol adherence, quality data submission and adverse event reporting.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, prioritize projects and meet the demands of a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Adaptable to quickly changing priorities.
Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration. Demonstrated experience in training others, particularly in the field of research.
Critical thinking skills to evaluate issues and identify a potential solution.
Clear and concise communicator; good verbal and written communication skills; both.
Good interpersonal skills, including but not limited to: problem-solving, teamwork development, leadership, mentorship. Interpersonal skills to effectively motivate others. Works well with others to achieve common goals. Ability to cultivate relationships with multiple stakeholders at various levels of administration.
Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in word processing and spreadsheet software. Effectively uses campus' clinical information and documentation application programs. Proven ability utilizing clinical trial management systems.
