Company Description The Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (BCABVI) is a private, non-profit agency based in Newtown, PA, dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing vision loss. The organization works collaboratively with clients to develop individualized service plans that promote independence and goal achievement. Role Description The Case Aide is a flexible, part-time, role (aprox 12 hr/wk during regular business hours) based in Newtown, PA, providing direct support services to clients who are blind or visually impaired in their homes. The Case Aide helps support communication between clients and the Vision Services Facilitator about current needs. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with bill paying, mail reading, basic home organization, and providing general administrative support to the service team. The role requires a client-centered approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to interact respectfully with diverse client populations.
• Background or familiarity with human services fields is helpful
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and professionalism when working with individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or managing other challenges.
• Organizational and administrative skills, including accurate recordkeeping, time management, and comfort with basic computer and database use.
• Ability to travel throughout Bucks County, reliably and punctually, and to collaborate effectively within a small interdisciplinary team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in human services, social work, or related fields is preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources and services in Bucks County or willingness to learn and build resource networks.
