Position Summary

The Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and coordination of field operations on assigned construction projects. This position ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, quality standards, and TCI expectations.

The Superintendent leads subcontractors and field personnel, coordinates site logistics and inspections, monitors project progress, and works closely with the Project Manager to identify and resolve field issues.

Successful Superintendents at TCI are dependable, proactive leaders who take ownership of their jobsites, communicate effectively, and build strong working relationships with project teams and trade partners.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily field operations for assigned construction projects.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite while enforcing TCI safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, field personnel, inspections, material deliveries, and site logistics.
• Review drawings, specifications, and schedules to plan work and identify potential field conflicts.
• Monitor project progress and coordinate trades to maintain schedules and project milestones.
• Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager regarding progress, site conditions, schedule impacts, and significant field issues.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and provide clear direction to trade partners and field personnel.
• Monitor workmanship and quality to ensure installations meet project requirements and TCI standards.
• Anticipate field challenges and work with the project team to develop practical solutions.
• Support project closeout, punch list completion, turnover, and other responsibilities necessary to successfully complete the project.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and field operations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and other project documents.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively direct subcontractors and field personnel.
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety, quality control, site logistics, and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to plan ahead, identify potential challenges, and resolve field issues.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build productive relationships with project managers, subcontractors, clients, design professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to lead effective field and subcontractor coordination meetings.
• Proficiency with construction technology, project management systems, and standard business applications.

Experience & Qualifications

·         High School Diploma or GED required.

·         Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred).

·         Equivalent relevant field and construction leadership experience will be considered in place of a degree.

• 5+ Years of previous experience supervising commercial construction projects or serving in a comparable field leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating subcontractors and managing day-to-day field operations.
• Experience managing projects through multiple phases of construction, from mobilization through closeout, preferred.
• Previous experience with casino, healthcare, educational or entertainment construction projects is preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.

Working Environment & Requirements

• Work is performed primarily on active construction sites, with some office-based responsibilities.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to regularly travel to assigned project sites and other locations as needed.
• Periodic travel and/or temporary relocation may be required depending on project assignments.
• Must be willing to work non-traditional hours when necessary to meet project schedules and responsibilities.
• Must be comfortable navigating active construction sites, including stairs, uneven surfaces, and other typical jobsite conditions.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
