Registered Dietitian - PRN

Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare is actively seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to work on a PRN basis. The Dietitian will work approximately 8 to 12 hours per month. This job will be 75% remote, 25% in person at our residential treatment center (RTC). Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in the charming city of Staunton, Virginia. We provide trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment to adolescent males who are experiencing complex emotional, behavioral, and educational difficulties. Our programs are specifically designed for youth with psychiatric disorders and co-occurring intellectual disabilities. We also specialize in working with young men who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. We are a 42-bed facility with a program that prepares these young men for return to a home, a less restrictive environment, or to independent living. Our primary focus is on encouraging constructive change and personal growth, learning positive ways to get appropriate attention, improving behavior choices, developing a sense of responsibility for actions, learning problem-solving skills, and developing thinking patterns that support positive relationships.Job Duties:Initiates and completes nutritional screening and assessments of all assigned patients within a specific time frame of the resident admissionAssists with the planning and approval of menus per regulatory requirementsProvides resident follow-up as indicatedProvides individual conferences with residents and family for nutritional education when appropriate or requestedEstablishes a working relationship with Nursing and Dietary to assist in promoting optimal nutritional careInterprets, adjusts, and checks accuracy of diet orders for kitchen staff so that appropriate food items are preparedProvides services to residential units on a consult basisParticipates in the discharge planning/meeting of patients with specific nutritional concerns and goalsQualifications:Must be at least 21 years of ageBachelor's Degree in Nutritional Science or related field of study, Masters preferredMinimum of 3 years experience preferredActive registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration, or Active certification of the Board for Certification of Nutrition SpecialistsPay is Hourly (bi-weekly) and is commensurate with education and experience.
