Position Overview: Assists the physician and/or other providers in the clinical area to maximize efficient patient flow through the office. Demonstrates courtesy to patients, physicians and co-workers. Commitment to patient quality care.

Essential Job Functions: 

1) Prepares exam rooms between patients

2) Escorts patients from waiting room to exam room

3) Takes and records vital signs in chart

4) Reviews Allergies and reactions on allergy sticker

5) Assists physician during physical exam

6) Instructs patients on prep for procedures

7) Reviews instruction for medications and diet with patient

8) Records medications prescribed by MD in chart

9) Retrieves messages from clinical question voice mail and prescription refill voice mails. Follows instruction from MD on each message and documents in patient account in PM system.

10) Obtains authorization of medications when required

11) Contributes to a positive work environment.

Requirements : H.S. Graduate or GED, prior experience as a Medical Assistant
