Product/Sr. Manager

The Product/Sr. Manager is a key supporting role on the Product Management team working to drive the overall assortment strategy, inventory management, and product life cycle for a highly SKU-intensive business. This role is expected to be hands-on and support the day-to-day tasks in building assortments, pricing, promotion, and markdown, buy planning, receipt plans, store allocation strategies, gross margin, and overall inventory management. This role will have a tremendous impact on new product development and growth with a focus on how we meet the needs of our consumers while meaningfully differentiating from competition – and all the execution implications of that strategy. We are a small company on the brink of a business transformation – we need a strong merchant team who can work collaboratively to drive product strategy, cultivate strong vendor relationships, and execute at retail.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the input and updating of data in merchandising tools
• Responsible for all system and data updates
• Responsible for adhering to calendar and critical deadlines
• Key liaison for tracking inventory commitments and conveying information between cross functional partners
• Assist with ad hoc projects that will require a full understanding of product life cycle
• Collaborate with key cross functional partners on a day to day basis; establish relationships to promote best practices and process adherence
• Identify our key competitors, to understand consumer perceptions of both our company and competition, and work to develop a product strategy that meets our consumers’ needs and differentiates from competition
• Analyze historical and in-season selling to guide our actions in future seasons plans
• Assist with projection management from initial pre-planning stage through execution at retail
• Assist in preparation for key milestone deliverables; create and compile key selling tools for new product launches and promotions
• Coordinate and manage samples for Product Management and Commercial
• Strengthen financial acumen to better react to business needs

Essential Qualifications

• 3-5 years of general merchandising experience
• Work experience in a direct-to-consumer industry
• Highly collaborative, with ability to work in partnership with all levels of the organization
• Balanced creative and analytical thinking (left/right brain balance)
• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to learn and utilize in house systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with both external and internal business partners
• High energy and fast paced office environment, subject to quick turnaround situations
• Highly organized, detail oriented & accurate
• Strong analytical skills
• Resourceful, efficient and takes initiative
• Excellent time management with a sense of priority for deadline and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Takes ownership of given projects with the ability to take them from start to finish
• Ability to lead in the inventory management of their area of responsibility
