Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
Location: Brockport, NY
Job Type: Full-Time preferred; Part-Time considered
Schedule: 4-5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
Setting: Small-Animal Veterinary Hospital
Summary
Seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join a collaborative small-animal veterinary team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and an interest in building a long-term career in veterinary medicine.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, dental procedures, and diagnostics.
Prepare patients and equipment and monitor anesthesia.
Perform blood draws, IV catheter placement, laboratory testing, and diagnostics.
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
Monitor patients and vital signs during procedures and recovery.
Assist with emergency and critical-care cases.
Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures.
Maintain accurate medical records.
Educate pet owners regarding treatment and follow-up care.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.
Qualifications
Current New York State Veterinary Technician license/credential required .
Associate degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent.
Small-animal/general practice experience preferred.
New graduates may be considered.
Experience with phlebotomy, laboratory procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance.
Strong animal-handling, communication, and teamwork skills.
EzyVet experience is a plus.
Willingness to work a rotating Saturday schedule.
