Junior Software Engineer

Renterra is a Series A-backed SaaS company modernizing the $100B+ heavy equipment rental industry. We've built an end-to-end platform that helps rental businesses run smarter - spanning operations, payments, marketing, and accounting integrations and so much more.
This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, with regular in-office collaboration and flexibility for focused remote work. How we work: We value velocity and efficiency through fast iteration cycles. Our lean team doesn't sit on ceremony - build times, deployments, and meetings are all streamlined so we can deliver the most effective solutions to our customers. What you'll do:- Design, Build and Innovate: Lead and contribute to greenfield projects, develop new features and products from scratch.
- Collaborate Closely: Engineering is a team effort; we produce our best work together. Work closely with our product and support teams to ensure we are solving the right problems
- Customer-Centric Development: Have high empathy for our users, consistently seek feedback and iterate on our products to improve their experience. (We go on-site on with customers to see our software in use first-hand)
- Business-Minded Decision Making: Make daily decisions on when we should invest in more sound architecture, leverage vendors and integrations or cut corners and scope to deliver functionality to our customers.
- Optimize and Deliver: Participate in a lean and fast-moving development process that is consistently iterated and improved upon.
- You're AI-forward - you actively use AI tools to accelerate development, and you're excited to integrate AI into product experiences when it meaningfully improves outcomes.
- You love building - and you're energized by shipping real product into the hands of real customers.
- You're fluent in TypeScript and modern web engineering - comfortable with our core technologies (see below) and excited to push the boundaries of what great product experiences can be.
