Job Overview


Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Management Specialist to support a statewide demolition program in New Jersey. The specialist will assist in design oversight, project scheduling, compliance management, and inter-agency coordination across multiple active demolition projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design process and oversee demolition projects at various statewide locations
• Maintain full knowledge of all active demolition projects, including those pending approval
• Ensure projects remain on schedule to prevent loss of funding per federal requirements
• Review all submittals for compliance with project plans and specifications
• Review contractor invoices and coordinate with fiscal teams to ensure proper allocation across funding sources
• Administer contractor and consultant evaluations at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% project completion milestones
• Assist the Program Director with contract compliance and adherence to division policies, procedures, statutes, and administrative codes
• Coordinate with township Business Administrators to manage utilities, community issues, and property line disputes
• Attend Plan & Spec review meetings, Pre-bid, Post-bid, and Pre-construction meetings
• Coordinate field activities with AE firms and other state agencies including Department of Labor, DEP, EPA, and NJ Department of Health
• Maintain organized electronic records of all correspondence, submittals, invoices, amendments, and close-out documents

Required Skills

• Construction project management and demolition oversight experience
• Familiarity with federal compliance requirements (FEMA, HUD)
• Experience reviewing contractor invoices, change orders, and contract submittals
• Strong coordination and communication skills with government and municipal stakeholders
• Proficiency in electronic records management

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience with state government demolition or hazard mitigation programs
• Knowledge of DPMC policies and administrative codes
• Experience working with AE firms on public sector projects

Location & Work Model


Statewide assignment based out of Trenton, NJ 08625. Travel across New Jersey required.

Engagement Details


Contract engagement - 24 months. Fixed work schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
