Substitute Teacher

Responsibilities Report to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building; Review with the principal, department head, or team leader all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day; Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned; Teach the lesson outlined and described by the "Information for Substitute Teachers" as prepared by the absent teacher; Consult as appropriate, with the building principal, department head, or team leader before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified by the "Information for Substitute Teachers"; Assume responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods; Report in writing, on the form provided by the school secretary, on the day's activities at the conclusion of each teaching day; and Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates. Safety and Background Checks To ensure the safety and welfare of students and staff, the district shall require criminal history background checks and fingerprinting of applicants for teaching positions and any other positions that require proximity to children. Additionally, satisfactory results from a required pre-employment drug screen as well as checks with various state/federal registries are required before an applicant is actually employed by Franklin County Schools. #J-18808-Ljbffr Fcstn
