Diesel Mechanic Heavy-Duty Fleet
We're looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team and keep our heavy-duty waste collection fleet running safely and efficiently. If you take pride in diagnosing tough problems, performing high-quality repairs, and working with modern diagnostic tools, this role offers stability, strong pay, and room to grow.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy-duty waste collection trucks
- Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, brake work, and tire service
- Conduct detailed inspections to identify potential failures before they become costly repairs
- Document all work performed, parts used, and repair times using fleet maintenance software
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and company procedures
- Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and fellow mechanics to keep the fleet operating smoothly
What You Bring
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of diesel engines
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Experience performing routine and advanced maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles
- Physical stamina to handle hands-on, physically demanding work
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Comfort using fleet maintenance or repair-tracking software
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Formal training in diesel mechanics or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or technician
- Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, brake systems, and engine repair
- MACK truck experience is a strong plus
Compensation
$25$35+/hr, depending on experience and certifications
(Additional earning potential available based on skill level and performance)

Work Environment
This is an in-shop role with core hours between 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, plus occasional Saturday shifts. You'll work with modern diagnostic tools, heavy-duty equipment, and a team committed to keeping the fleet in top condition.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Connellsville, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
