Neurodiagnostic Technologist-EEG /Epilepsy

Job DescriptionLocation: Parkland: 16th FLR BLK 400\n\nSchedule: Fulltime Nights\n\nPrimary Purpose\n\nPerforms routine and complex Neurodiagnostic procedures for patients as directed, providing physicians diagnostic tools with which to treat patients.\n\nMinimum Specifications\n\nEducation\n\nEEG:\n\n\n High school diploma or equivalent required.\n Completion of an accredited EEG or other neurodiagnostic technician program is preferred.\n\nFor NCV/EMG Technologist:\n\n\n High school diploma or equivalent required.\n Completion of an accredited EEG or other neurodiagnostic technician program preferred.\n\nExperience\n\nEEG:\n\n\n Prior experience in a neurodiagnostic setting including clinical rotations or internships is required.\n\nFor NCV/EMG Technologist:\n\n\n\n Prior experience in a neurodiagnostic setting which includes clinical rotations or internships is preferred.\n Six months experience preforming NCV studies.\n\nEquivalent Education and/or Experience\n\n\n May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.\n\nCertification/Registration/Licensure\n\n\n Must have a current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification before date of hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:\n American Heart Association\n American Red Cross\n Military Training Network\n Current incumbents in the role as of 8/1/2023 must obtain a health care provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification no later than 11/31/2023.\n\nRequired Tests for Placement\n\nSkills or Special Abilities\n\n\n Must be able to perform routine EEG procedures independently.\n Must be able to distinguish EEG abnormalities and respond appropriately.\n Must be able to learn advanced EEG procedures.\n Must be able to work with personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.\n Must have good communication skills necessary in handling difficult and severely ill patients.\n Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.\n Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n Responsible for the performance of routine Neurodiagnostic procedures for use by physicians as a diagnostic tool. May perform complex Neurodiagnostic procedures as skills advance.\n Maintains electrodes, reviews and edits patient data to provide interpretable results. Completes all paperwork.\n Maintains a positive working relationship with other employees, physicians, patients and family members.\n Responsible for stocking supplies and preparing test areas. Maintains and troubleshoots equipment as skills advance in order to ensure effective operations.\n\n\nRequisition ID: 988420
