Job Summary Title: Case Manager – Involuntary Emergency Admission (IEA) Agency: Judicial Branch, 6th Circuit Location: Concord, NH Employment Type: Full‑time Salary: $43,934.80 – $53,040.00 (steps 1‑5) Position #: CT1000003687 Summary The case manager assists court users with court interactions and processes related to specific case types, such as divorce/parenting, involuntary emergency admissions, probate commitments, and other assignments. The case manager ensures each party has the necessary information to advance their case to completion. Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of relevant college‑level coursework or an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university. Three (3) years of case management or court experience. Derive equivalent combinations of training, education, and experience that provide the required skills, knowledge, and abilities as determined by the NHJB. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Legal terminology, court procedures, and case flow. State of New Hampshire statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies, procedures, and applicable federal rules. Financial policies, operations, and activities of the Judicial Branch. Judicial Branch computer programs and applications. Electronic filing. Customer service. Problem‑solving and crisis/emergency management. Communicating complex information clearly and simply. Working with diverse populations and maintaining neutrality. Planning, analysis, and prioritizing multiple duties. Sound judgment to identify and raise issues to appropriate personnel. Collaborating effectively with colleagues. Attention to detail, data gathering, and compilation. Scheduling, preparing, and maintaining documents, including spreadsheets. Electronic and paper filing, keyboarding, and use of other computer technologies. Managing time and meeting schedules and deadlines. Travel to other court locations as needed. Other Requirements Successful completion of a background check, including a criminal records check. Responsibilities Process cases in assigned case types throughout the life of the case. Assist litigants with case documents, including emergency filings. Review incoming documents for completeness and accuracy. Determine appropriate procedures for various filings. Prepare notices and disseminate them to necessary individuals. Conduct Case Manager Conferences when appropriate. Schedule cases for upcoming hearings or events. Close cases and perform end‑stage processing, including annulling cases when needed. Maintain records of court proceedings. Provide information and educational materials to parties, attorneys, stakeholders, and the public regarding the specific case type. Interface with stakeholders such as mediators, attorneys, clinicians, hospital staff, legal assistance, and the Office of Mediation and Arbitration. Manage and maintain scheduling and programs within the case type (e.g., first appearances, IEA or IN hearings). Prepare court dockets when required. Assist judges or other judicial officers in preparation for and during hearing days. Coordinate mediation in appropriate cases, monitor progress, and schedule with mediators. Provide courtroom support and collaborate with judicial officers and court staff. Refer litigants to local community programs when appropriate. Assist with record keeping, data compilation, and report generation. Perform various duties to ensure office efficiency. Carry out additional related tasks as needed.
