Assistant Manager I

About the Role We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. The role includes a broad set of duties that support the Store Manager and foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates. Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day store activities. Provide helpful, approachable support to customers and address inquiries or concerns. Organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, and maintain seasonal areas. Perform opening and closing procedures. Process all corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, etc.) and related communications. Maintain the effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays. Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, deposits, receipts). Ensure loss prevention and secure all company assets, including store cash. Maintain a clean, well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards. Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates. Enforce company policies, safety guidelines, and procedures, ensuring all associates follow them. Address any other duties assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required. Store‑management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments is preferred. Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and to perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills. Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment. Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
