Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Per Diem, Days)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and guides patient/family teaching while directing the activities of other nursing personnel. The RN maintains standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit and is accountable for the care given to assigned patients. The RN communicates with physicians about changes in patient conditions and is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in conditions and treatment responses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective patient care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
• Perform ongoing assessments and evaluations of patients' clinical conditions.
• Communicate effectively with the medical team and report changes in patient conditions.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Direct the activities of nursing personnel as necessary.
• Float between Med/Surg and Telemetry units as required.

Schedule

This position is for per diem shifts, primarily during the day.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• Minimum of 1 year previous acute care hospital experience.
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.
• Capability to float to Med/Surg/Telemetry units as necessary.
