Position Summary The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics is seeking energetic Physical Therapists to join our staff therapy team. The Physical Therapist administers necessary physical therapy treatment as determined through a comprehensive evaluation process for patients with injuries or dysfunction of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular, and integumentary systems, aiming to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Responsibilities are performed individually or with delegation to and oversight of support staff. Conducts comprehensive evaluation to determine appropriate course of care and follow‑up treatments. Performs and documents tests and measurements (strength, range of motion, sensory perception, functional capacity, respiratory and circulatory efficiency). Administers physical therapy treatments and monitors progress to decrease pain, increase range of motion and strength, and promote function; interventions may include modalities, therapeutic procedures, manual therapy, and written home exercise programs. Meets or exceeds CAO productivity standards as provided by the respective therapy practice. Assesses effects of treatments at minimum every 30 days and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit. Documents treatments, responses, progress, and outcomes in the chart in compliance with federal and state regulations and CAO requirements. Selects appropriate CPT codes for treatment administered and submits billing charges consistently with level of care. Abides by insurance guidelines required for coverage and reimbursement, coordinating care with authorizations, referrals, treatment plans, and benefits requirements. Supervises physical therapist assistants and support staff during treatments in accordance with PT Practice Act and federal regulations. Supervises and assists with student observation/clinical rotation as required by federal and state regulations. Collaborates and communicates effectively with other medical providers to benefit patient recovery and ensure successful outcomes. Participates actively in therapy team activities, including staff meetings, CAO‑sponsored events, webinars, in‑services, and departmental meetings. Assists with the smooth operation of the clinic, including scheduling adjustments and staffing at other CAO locations. Assures treatment compliance with all federal, state, and CAO best practices. May be required to work at least two evening shifts per week and occasional Saturdays depending on practice hours. Obtains necessary CEUs and state‑specific licensing or certification requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience A degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program. State licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state where practicing. CPR for Healthcare Providers certification. Experience and proficiency with computers and electronic medical records. Competencies & Required Skills Strong interpersonal skills for relationship development and collaboration. Organizational abilities to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with proven results. Effective oral and written communication, self‑discipline, and patience. Proficiency in Windows‑based office technologies (Word, Excel). Comprehensive knowledge of CPT & ICD‑10 coding procedures. Knowledge of Medicare and third‑party billing and Workers Compensation insurance. Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in presentation. Fluency in English for reading, writing, speaking, and communication. Physical Demands Ability to sit for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Proper body mechanics when transferring patients and assisting with exercises. Frequency of bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting. Regular heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling during a standard shift. Adequate hearing for in‑person and telephone duties. Hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating keyboard, medical equipment, fax machine, scanner, photocopier, and telephone. Clear communication to patients in person and over the telephone. Visual acuity adequate for reading materials from printed sources and computer screens. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
