Calling All Experienced Cooks!

We are hiring experienced Cooks to join a hospital Food & Nutrition Services team. If you have professional kitchen experience and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards for food quality and safety, this is a great opportunity!

Pay: $18.50/hour

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, menus, and standards.
• Perform food preparation, including chopping, cutting, portioning, and other kitchen prep duties.
• Prepare meals for patients, staff, and other hospital customers as assigned.
• Set up and maintain an organized cooking station.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and follow temperature-control procedures.
• Ensure food is prepared and handled according to dietary and nutritional requirements.
• Keep kitchen areas, equipment, and workstations clean and organized.
• Work efficiently during busy meal service periods.
• Communicate with other members of the Food & Nutrition Services team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Perform other related kitchen duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

• Professional cooking experience required.
• Previous experience in a hospital, hotel, restaurant, banquet, or other high-volume kitchen is preferred.
• Strong basic culinary and knife skills.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and established food preparation standards.
• Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling procedures.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Previous healthcare food service experience is a plus.

Position Details:

• Positions Available: 2 Cooks
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Shift: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Weekends: Rotating weekends - work one weekend, off the next
• Pay: $18.50/hour
• Employment Type: Temp-to-hire, with the potential for permanent employment if there is interest from both parties
• Experience: Kitchen or restaurant experience preferred; professional cooking experience required
