Our restaurant, which overlooks a Crystal Lagoon, is open Wednesday-Sunday with the occasional special event on Mondays and Tuesdays. Position Overview As a Restaurant Expeditor & Food Runner, you will be the vital link between the kitchen and the front-of-house team, ensuring that dishes are delivered to our guests in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the flow of service and ensuring every guest’s experience exceeds their expectations. Key Responsibilities Expediting: Coordinate the timely and accurate delivery of food from the kitchen to the dining room. Ensure the quality, accuracy, and presentation of all dishes before they leave the kitchen. Food Running: Deliver food orders to tables promptly, while ensuring an organized flow of service. Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the kitchen and the front-of-house team to ensure all orders are prioritized and completed efficiently. Customer Service: Assist in greeting and assisting guests as needed, ensuring they are satisfied with their meals and service. Maintaining Cleanliness: Help maintain a clean and organized work area, including the expediting station, food runners' stations, and dining areas. Teamwork: Collaborate with kitchen staff, servers, and bartenders to ensure seamless service throughout each shift. Qualifications Previous experience in a restaurant or fast-paced food environment is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask under pressure. Ability to remain calm and organized during busy periods. A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Fast-paced walking and moving through tight spaces between kitchen and dining areas. Ability to work in a noisy, bustling environment. Experience with tray jack service is a plus.
