The Medical Assistant participates as a team member in the overall function of the clinic. The Medical Assistant is responsible for the flow of patients for their assigned areas (as applicable) each day. They perform duties and procedure as describes by the Primary Responsibilities section.This position is 1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week.ResponsibilitiesAll Essential Functions of the MA I and MA II positionsAct as a primary preceptor/trainerWork with leadership team to facilitate training of new hires and other training initiativesAssist nurse or provider with procedures, as indicated by roleCollaborate with clinic leadership to develop operational strategies and process improvement effortsQualifications Required: Completion of a medical assistant program offered by a school accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); orMilitary Training or experience may satisfy training and experience requirement3 years of relevant work experienceCertified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington and must be familiar with the State's conduct and standards of practiceCurrent Surgical Technologist Registration in the State of Washington within 30 days of hire as applicable, depending on locationCurrent BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two year.Lead process improvement initiativesAbility to appropriately respond to emergencies or disasters per clinic protocolExperienced in Electronic Medical RecordsDemonstrates initiative as evidenced by advancing technical skills, sharing knowledge with others, and taking on more responsibilityAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsProficient in computer skills to support operationsFamiliarity with medical terminologyAbility to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve. Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment. Preferred: Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.The hourly pay range for this position is from $32.63 to $48.93 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
