Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Float)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Float to various units throughout the facility to meet census and staffing needs, caring for a diverse patient population including ER-boarded patients, telemetry, and med-surg patients
• Maintain safe and effective patient care within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6, depending on unit acuity
• Perform core charge nurse duties on designated smaller units, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general unit coordination as the sole RN on those units
• Document and chart accurately using EPIC
• Commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a PCU, stepdown, or comparable acute care setting
• US-based clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
• Charge nurse experience is required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler (locals may be considered under separate terms)
• Must be willing to float to nearby sister facilities as needed; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with telemetry monitoring and caring for high-acuity step-down patients
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
• Prior travel nursing experience in a float or multi-unit capacity
