Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units. Position Description: Psychiatric Mental Health Technicians carry out the daily routines of patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Shift Supervisor. This includes: assisting in the ongoing assessment of the safety and emotional needs of each patient, demonstrating awareness of the key elements of the treatment plans for all assigned patients and provides intervention/care accordingly on an individualized basis, assisting patients with their personal grooming and personal hygiene, participating in assigned groups and activities to meet the needs of various patient populations, demonstrating the ability to maintain therapeutic and professional rapport with patients, participating with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu, providing verbal de-escalation techniques and physical management, as needed, making rounds on patients, including documenting every 15 minutes or sooner to provide patient safety, assisting the RN with patient admissions and discharges, performing vital signs, belongings searches, and orientation to the unit.

Hours and Location: Full-Time, 7pm to 7:30am for Night Shift. Schedule includes every other weekend. We are located on the south side of Grand Rapids, near the intersection of M-6 and Byron Center Ave SW: 6291 Venture Hills Boulevard SW, Byron Center, MI 49315

Qualifications Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelors degree in Psychology or Human Services related field preferred but not required
• CPR certified (Can obtain once hired)
• Experience working as a psychiatric technician preferred
