Job Title: General Helper – Deburr Department

Job Description

This role supports the deburr department by cleaning, grinding, and polishing metal parts using hand tools and chemicals in a machine shop environment. You will handle greasy and oily components, follow detailed instructions in English, and contribute to the overall quality and finish of manufactured parts.

Monday - Thursday : 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Essential Skills

• Experience in a manufacturing environment or similar hands-on setting.
• Ability to use hand tools safely, including grinders and basic mechanical tools.
• Capability to deburr, grind, and clean metal parts with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
• Comfort with lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to follow instructions in English, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to wear steel-toed shoes and required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deburr and grind parts using hand tools such as grinders and other basic equipment.
• Clean and polish greasy and oily parts to meet quality and finish standards.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes and any additional PPE provided.
• Use acetone and other cleaning agents safely while following provided safety procedures.
• Follow written and verbal instructions in English to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
• Stand for most of the workday while performing manual tasks in the deburr department.
• Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Background in construction or shipyard work is acceptable and considered relevant.
• Experience with mechanical tools, deburring, and cutting is a strong plus.
• Openness to training and learning additional tasks such as sandblasting.
• General labor or general helper experience in industrial or shop environments.

Work Environment

This position is based in a machine shop environment operating Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime available as needed. You work primarily in the deburr department using hand tools, grinders, and cleaning agents such as acetone, with all required personal protective equipment provided. The work involves standing for most of the day, handling greasy and oily parts, and working around industrial machinery and equipment. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing steel-toed shoes as part of the standard dress code.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in El Cajon,CA.
