Veterinary Technician, Emergency & Critical Care

Location: Mundelein, IL

Schedule: Full-Time | 3rd Shift Available | Either 3 Twelve OR 4 Nine Hour Shifts Per Week | Weekends Required | Participation in Some Holiday Coverage

Compensation: $22-30/hr Depending On Experience | Applicable Shift Differentials - $5/hr for Overnights

In Your Day-To-Day, You Will

• Triage incoming emergency patients, assess their condition, and partner with veterinarians to develop diagnostic and treatment plans.

• Deliver exceptional nursing care by completing treatments, monitoring hospitalized patients, and recognizing changes in patient status to ensure timely intervention.

• Collect and process diagnostic samples, utilize advanced imaging, and assist with a variety of medical procedures to support accurate diagnoses and patient care.

• Safely administer, monitor, and recover patients from sedation and anesthesia while providing attentive care throughout every stage of their procedure.

• Help maintain the flow and organization of the Emergency and Critical Care department, ensuring patients receive efficient, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

• Communicate compassionately with clients by providing updates, answering questions, educating them on treatment plans, and supporting them through patient admissions and discharges.

• Collaborate with a skilled team of veterinarians and technicians to provide exceptional care for every patient while advocating for their comfort and well-being.

What You Bring

• Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred, but candidates of all experience levels are encourage to apply, including veterinary technician students

• Previous experience in veterinary medicine with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• A positive, team-first attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client care teams.

• Strong self-motivation with the ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently, and take initiative in a dynamic hospital setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate, client-focused approach and the ability to adapt your communication to a variety of situations.

• Sound technical knowledge and a commitment to following medical protocols, hospital policies, and best practices while continuously growing your clinical skills.

• A desire to learn, contribute, and make a meaningful impact as part of a collaborative team dedicated to outstanding patient care.
