ENGINEERING AND ROBOTICS INSTRUCTOR
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineering and Robotics Instructor delivers career and technical education to 11th- and 12th-grade students, focusing on the interdisciplinary field of engineering and robotics. This program integrates multiple engineering disciplines, equipping students with the skills to combine electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, and programming. Students apply these concepts to design and develop cost-effective, energy-efficient, and reliable automated systems for industrial, medical, and residential environments, as well as for modern transportation systems.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education: The ideal candidate will possess a Michigan secondary CTE teaching certificate in Mechatronics CIP 14.4201.
or
Experience: Two (2) or more years with a minimum of 4,000 hours of recent relevant work
experience and must begin an approved CTE teacher training program within the
first three (3) years of employment.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in engineering, robotics, and mechatronics concepts in alignment with the standards established by the State of Michigan and St. Clair TEC.
- Manage the learning environment by developing, scheduling, and delivering relevant learning activities; diagnosing learning difficulties; providing corrective action; and monitoring and reporting student progress.
- Integrate career-ready practices, including problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and workplace professionalism.
- Assist students in planning their occupational and training objectives.
- Deliver curriculum that integrates academic skills into individualized instruction.
- Adapt the instructional process and teaching style to meet the needs of students with special needs.
- Maintain student attendance and progress records; report data as required.
RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work cooperatively and effectively with St. Clair TEC staff and administration.
- Infuse student-centered concepts and principles into the learning environment.
- Manage the learning environment by developing, scheduling, and delivering relevant activities; diagnosing student learning difficulties; providing corrective action; and monitoring and reporting student progress.
- Manage student behaviors by developing, implementing, and maintaining a classroom management plan.
- Assist in maintaining an active advisory committee.
- Assist students in seeking and retaining employment related to their training.
- Maintain educational laboratory and equipment in such a manner as to continuously offer an effective instructional environment.
- Become an integral part of the instructional team for planning, delivery, and evaluation of the program.
- Work cooperatively with parents and staff of local school districts. Maintain good public relations with the community at large.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Position Employment Date: 2026-27 school year -upon board approval, pending background
check and drug screening
Length of Contract: 185 Day School Year
Salary: per the IEA Contract, based on education and experience
