Security Officer

DK Security is Michigan’s fastest growing security company. Established in 1995, it evolved from an investigations firm into a provider of uniform security, event staff security, loss prevention and more. Job Responsibilities Guard posts at entry/exit points of client buildings and grounds. Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of interiors and exteriors to maintain safety. Prevent unauthorized entry to restricted areas. Check employee, vendor, and visitor identification. Identify suspicious people, packages, and activities. Follow site‑specific post guidelines. Document daily activities and report incidents. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Minimum Requirements At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent). Must be at least 21 and hold a Michigan CPL or LEOSA card to perform armed work. No felony convictions per MCL 338.1060. No misdemeanor convictions related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol‑related offenses per MCL 338.1060. Must pass a drug screening (including marijuana) at hire and randomly thereafter. Adhere to the company’s Uniform and Appearance policy. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to de‑escalate situations in a non‑confrontational manner. Strong English language proficiency. Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification and administer care if needed. Physical ability to move quickly, run short distances, sit, stand, and walk long distances (8‑12 hours) and lift up to 50 pounds (70 lbs if armed). Ability to work indoors or outdoors in all seasons and hear conversations in noisy environments. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Must be available Monday–Friday (various days), Part‑time 7 am–5 pm or 10 am–6 pm. Schedule: Monday–Friday, Part‑time 7 am–5 pm or 10 am–6 pm Compensation: $20.00/hour Location: Grand Rapids, MI Benefits Part‑time benefits become available after 1 year of employment with an average of 20+ hours per week.
