Southlake Orthopaedics is looking for a full time Physician Assistant to join our team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist the surgeon in surgery
* Perform patient progress notes, history and physical intake, triage, and consults.
* Issue and transcribe diagnostic orders and prescriptions.
* Formulate a working diagnosis, develop and implement treatment plans.
* Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
* Evaluate patient status during hospital rounds.
* Perform independent evaluations in emergency situations.
* Verify operating room equipment and materials are in a state of readiness.
* Participate in on-call schedule.
* Offer counseling and education to patients as needed.
* Performs clinical duties including, but not limited to, wound care, injections, draw labs, apply and remove dressings/bandages, casting, etc.
* Performs any additional work-related tasks as needed, including, but not limited to, taking nurse calls, escorting patients from the waiting area, scanning, importing disks, and room prep.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's Degree Physician Assistant from a program accredited by the ARC-PA required
* Successful completion of PANCE required
* Unrestricted license (or eligibility to apply for licensure) to practice in the state of Alabama required
* 2 years of Orthopaedic surgery experience preferred
