Election Protection Coordinator (Limited term to Nov 30th)

Voces de la Frontera is seeking a passionate, organized, and community-centered Election Protection Coordinator to help break down voting barriers and strengthen civic participation across Wisconsin. In this role, you will help ensure fair, accessible, and inclusive elections by recruiting and supporting election observers and poll workers, building relationships with municipal clerks, coordinating voter protection efforts, and helping community members navigate the voting process with confidence. Your work will play a critical role in protecting voting rights and empowering immigrant and Latinx communities to participate in our democracy. Note: This position will support both Voces de la Frontera (VDLF) and Voces de la Frontera Action (VDLFA), our sister 501(c)(4) organization. The role will contribute to efforts that support civic engagement, pro-immigrant policies, voter education, and electoral participation in critical elections across Wisconsin. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruit and coordinate bilingual Election Observers and poll workers in priority communities across Wisconsin. Serve as the primary liaison with municipal clerks and election officials statewide. Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate Election Observer trainings, ensuring all participants are prepared and equipped for election activities. Represent Voces in voter protection coalitions and report election-related incidents as needed. Collaborate with staff and volunteers to strengthen election protection and community defense efforts. Train organizers and volunteers on voter education, voter protection, and election best practices. Maintain accurate records, data entry, assignments, hours, and administrative paperwork; coordinate stipends and payments with administrative staff. Monitor program goals, metrics, and reporting to ensure successful implementation of the election protection workplan. Host regular team meetings and provide updates on progress, challenges, and outcomes. Contribute to post-election evaluations and recommendations for program improvements. Required Qualifications Bilingual in Spanish and English. Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Wisconsin as needed. Demonstrated experience in community organizing, civic engagement, voter protection, advocacy, or a related field. Strong relationship-building and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable using technology for scheduling, communication, reporting, and data management. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed during peak election periods. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in nonprofit, advocacy, labor, or mission-driven organizations. Experience working directly with Latinx, immigrant, or other historically underrepresented communities. Experience with voter education, voter registration, election protection, or Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) campaigns. Knowledge of Wisconsin election systems and voting rights issues. Familiarity with pro-immigrant advocacy and community-based organizing. Physical and Mental Demands Physical Requirements Frequent sitting, standing, and walking during trainings, meetings, and election-related activities. Regular travel throughout Wisconsin to polling locations, municipal offices, and community sites. Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and telephones. Ability to review written materials, data, and reports. Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
