Job Details Job ID: 5818448 Application Deadline: Jul 16, 2026 11:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time) Posted: Jul 07, 2026 4:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: To Be Determined Position Type: Full‑Time Salary: $65,390 – $99,775 (Annual) Term of Employment: Ten months; up to 20 additional days in summer Job Description Reports To: Director of Special Services and Building Principal Qualifications NJ Instructional Certification (Standard only) with Preschool‑3 or N‑8 endorsement, or an Educational Services Certification (Standard only) 3–5 years teaching experience in a preschool with effective or highly effective rating using a State‑approved evaluation system Preferred: Experience providing professional development to classroom teachers Experience with Creative Curriculum and performance‑based preschool assessments Familiarity with Positive Behavior Support (PBS) plan content and development Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills; Bilingual (Spanish) a plus Must complete the Pyramid Model for Promoting Social and Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children training program before the first year of hire Pass mandatory pre‑employment physical, drug screening, and criminal history screening per New Jersey law Consistent attendance as defined by the New Jersey Department of Education Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google, and general computer skills Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to various early childhood education sites Job Goals The PIRS provides coaching for teachers to enhance use of the Pyramid Model, district curriculum, early childhood education principles, and child development. Performance Responsibilities Supports implementation of the early childhood curriculum. Visits classrooms to observe student social emotional development and provide teacher support. Provides practice‑based coaching on the Pyramid Model with written strategies, modeling, and consultation. Assists teachers in developing PBS Intervention Plans and demonstrating strategies. Monitors progress with teachers and families, revises strategies as needed. Conducts Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT) observations and provides feedback. Maintains data for all steps of the PIRT/PIRS process (coaching logs, TPOT data, screening results, RFAs, meetings, interventions, professional development, family interactions, PBS planning, referrals, etc.). Facilitates transition of case files to other programs (e.g., Kindergarten, CST). Schedules and facilitates case review meetings, tracks caseloads, and meets with families. Coaches teachers on data interpretation and use of assessment data to plan instruction using performance‑based assessments. Assists teachers in designing effective learning centers. Models effective instructional techniques and demonstrates how to create a stimulating, organized, functional, healthy, and safe classroom environment. Works cooperatively with classroom adults, establishing clear roles. Plans, conducts, and implements ongoing professional development and technical assistance around the Pyramid Model for staff, parents, administrators, and master teachers. Collaborates with the Special Education Department to provide appropriate services for special‑needs students. Attends faculty meetings and fulfills required duties. Participates in parent meetings to discuss pupil progress and program interpretation. Co‑confers with the Community Parent Involvement Specialist, Preschool Master Teacher, Special Education staff/administration, and PIRT Team regularly. Maintains professional competence and shares knowledge with others. Maintains positive, cooperative, and supportive relationships with staff, administration, students, parents, and resource agencies. Ensures confidentiality of student information. Recommends curriculum modifications when needed. Performs other related professional duties as assigned by administration. Essential Job Functions Willing to assist students with feeding, hygiene, toileting, and behavioral needs. Able to push, pull, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. Able to respond quickly to emergent situations to ensure student safety. Terms of Employment Ten months; must be willing to work up to 20 additional days in summer.
