Position Summary
Leaf Restaurant & Bar is looking for a Sous Chef who can serve as a hands-on kitchen leader and strong operational partner within the back of house. This role is ideal for someone who can lead from the line, support the Head Chef, reinforce standards, help keep service moving, and contribute to a kitchen culture built on quality, accountability, urgency, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in the daily leadership and execution of kitchen operations.
• Prepare, cook, and plate menu items to recipe, presentation, and quality standards.
• Help direct prep and line staff during service to keep the kitchen organized, efficient, and on pace.
• Assist with training, coaching, and reinforcing standards for recipes, plating, sanitation, and kitchen discipline.
• Support inventory, prep control, receiving, line checks, and overall station readiness.
• Maintain consistency, food quality, cleanliness, and smooth service flow across the kitchen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen required.
• Previous experience as a lead line cook, kitchen lead, Sous Chef, or similar back-of-house leadership role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, knife skills, and core cooking techniques required.
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain urgency, reinforce standards, and help solve problems in real time.
• Culinary training, formal kitchen training, or ServSafe certification is required.

Schedule/Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position based at Leaf Restaurant & Bar in Easton, PA. Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and peak-volume events is required. This role works in an active kitchen environment and includes extended standing and walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., and exposure to kitchen heat, equipment, noise, and some cigar or tobacco smoke in shared service areas.
