RN - Program (EDU SSS)

For 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. We are searching for an RN to join our Summer School Program in Schenectady, NY. Program Dates: July 8th – August 21st. Orientation Dates: July 7th & 8th. Schedule: Monday – Friday, from 8 AM to 3 PM. Responsibilities Provides direct care and treatment to individuals in assigned program through a variety of nursing procedures. Assesses health care needs of individuals as required. Assesses individuals who become ill, administers first aid for inquiries and coordinates follow-up. Keeps medical records current and complete in compliance with all regulations and the Nurse Practice Act. Collaborates regularly with team members, caregivers, and other professionals as needed. Participates in training and development in accordance with agency policy. Monitors safety and infection control standards and adheres to safety practices and policies. Checks nursing equipment as indicated. Attends nursing/program meetings as scheduled. Documents all current health-related information in nurse’s notes and/or medical record. Assists with occupational health duties for staff. Communicates regularly with other service providers, program staff, and administration regarding changing medical issues. Performs specific duties that are pertinent to work assignment. Requirements Current Registered Nursing NYS License required and must be maintained at all times. At least 1 year of acute care or RN experience; experience with MRDD population preferred. Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
