Peer Specialist - Residential

Department: Residential Substance Use - Women Location: Clinton - Wesmor Street Compensation: $19.50 / hour Use Your Lived Experience to Empower Others as a Peer Specialist Schedule: Sun-Thurs Tuesday-split shift : 8AM-10AM, 1PM-8PM If you've walked the path of recovery and want to help others do the same, this is your opportunity to turn your journey into purpose. As a Peer Specialist, you’ll use your lived experience with behavioral health or substance use recovery to inspire hope, support growth, and walk alongside individuals as they build the life they want. Key Responsibilities Share personal recovery experiences and model healthy coping strategies Support individuals in building confidence, resilience, and community connections Assist with goal-setting and navigating treatment and support systems Help individuals recognize and build on their own strengthsParticipate as a valued member of the treatment team Provide transportation support when clinically indicated; driving is an essential function of this position Complete required state training, supervision, and certification processes (if not already certified) Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise High School/GED required

WORK EXPERIENCE

Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services Must complete a state-approved training program, pass a standardized examination, complete certification process within 60 days of hire date, and maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist through the MCB (MO). Required only when applicable.
