Freight Handler - Commissary

Summary: Outbound responsibilities for condition of loads to stores. To ensure proper loading and to minimize damages on trailers. Inbound responsibilities for proper break down and accurate case counts on each pallet. Moves freight from dock to assigned aisle.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Enter trailers only on "green" dock lights.
• Trailers must be clean before loading
• Must check each pallet tag to ensure accurate pallets are shipped to each store.
• When doubling a pallet on top of another, the bottom pallet must be flat and sturdy. Double pallets are not to be put at the end of a trailer. Do not triple pallets on trailer.
• All pallets from grocery aisles 41000 to 47000 must be machine wrapped. All double pallets must be machine wrapped. The last four pallets are to be machine wrapped.
• Load schematics must have door number, store number, trailer number, and date on them.
• Record number of pallets hung over and pallet ID numbers. Record total number of pallets for each store on trailer. Sign schematics.
• Indicate pallet ID numbers for pallets that are tossed on trailers. Check pallet recap report to ensure all pallets are on trailer.
• When schematic is filled out, turn the schematic and report in to shipping office.
• Fill out trailer defect sheets to indicate any damages to trailers and safety related repairs. Include the trailer number, date, and time on defect sheet.
• Inbound duties: Accurately separate all product as to description and Ti x Hi as indicated on receiving document. Ensure product is in saleable condition and in undamaged/shippable cartons. Verify quantities of each item to match the receiving document. Complete all paperwork in an accurate and legible manner. Place pallet tags on completed pallets. Complete any receiving correction documents in an accurate and legible manner. Label each pallet with the corresponding receiving label to ensure proper quantities and location. Move freight from dock area to assigned warehouse aisles.
• Inbound and Outbound: Adhere to all safety policies, procedures and best practices while performing tasks in a manner that promotes safety at all times. Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Strong communication skills

• Bending: Frequent 3-5 Hours
• Exposure to Hot Environment: Occasional 1-3 Hours
• Exposure to Cold Environment: Occasional 1-3 Hours
• Grasping/Finger Movement & Dexterity- Left/Right Hands: Constant 5-8 Hours
• Lifting: Constant 5-8 Hours up to 50lbs
• Pivoting: Constant 5-8 Hours
• Pushing/Pulling: Frequent 3-5 Hours up to 50lbs
• Squatting/Kneeling: Frequent 3-5 Hours
• Standing: Constant 5-8 Hours
• Twisting: Frequent 3-5 Hours
• Walking: Constant 5-8 Hours
