Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing employee payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with company policies and payroll regulations. This role supports payroll operations by reviewing timekeeping records, calculating payroll deductions, resolving payroll inquiries, and collaborating with Accounting and Human Resources to ensure accurate employee compensation and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately process employee timesheets and payroll-related information.
• Verify payroll data to ensure accuracy before processing.
• Calculate and process payroll deductions, including garnishments and other required withholdings.
• Support payroll processing activities and provide backup coverage within the payroll department.
• Develop a thorough understanding of payroll and timekeeping systems and their interaction with payroll processing.

• Research and resolve employee payroll questions and issues.
• Review payroll information, reports, and records for accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze payroll data and investigate discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with year-end payroll processes and maintain payroll records and documentation.

• Gather and provide payroll information for inclusion in financial statements.
• Partner with the General Accounting and Human Resources teams to ensure accurate payroll processing and alignment with financial reporting.
• Assist in communicating payroll policies and procedures to employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Payroll certification or related payroll systems certification preferred.

• Ability to analyze data across multiple payroll and timekeeping systems.
• Strong understanding of payroll confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
