Housekeeping Aide

Job Title: Housekeeping Aide Location: Lafayette, TN, US Salary: $14.00 – $17.00 annually Position Summary Performs cleaning functions in various areas of the hospital, maintaining these areas in a clean and orderly fashion in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures to provide an environment conducive to patient recovery. Position Requirements A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: None. B. Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. C. Experience: Not required. D. Special Qualifications: Requires operation of mechanical equipment such as buffers and vacuums. Visual acuity to detail cleanliness. Reasoning ability to use self‑judgment when changing the sequence of areas cleaned to meet needs of the area. Degree of Supervision Required Involves general guidance and direction by Supervisors/Managers. The employee will perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Working Conditions Hospital rooms, common areas, clinical departments, and hospital grounds. Potential hazards include toxic/caustic chemicals, blood or body fluids, extreme hot or cold conditions, communicable diseases, dust/fumes/gases, unprotected heights, moving mechanical art, computer monitor exposure, potential electric shock, frequent repetitive motions, X‑ray electromagnetic energy, high‑pitched noises, needles or other sharp objects. Physical Requirements Standing, walking, stooping, pushing cart or vacuum, climbing, and lifting (usually less than 25 pounds). Personal Protective Equipment Gloves, masks, and safety glasses.
