Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature, as well as the patient's level of consciousness throughout the post-anesthesia recovery period.
• Ensure a patent airway and adequate respiratory function, intervening promptly in the event of obstruction or respiratory distress.
• Administer medications such as analgesics, anti-nausea agents, and fluids to effectively manage post-operative symptoms and maintain patient comfort.
• Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications, inspect dressings, perform physical assessments, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions when adverse reactions occur.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient condition and care plans.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of PACU nursing experience (required).
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume acute care hospital setting.
• Familiarity with a broad range of post-operative patient populations including cardiovascular, orthopedic, oncology, and neuroscience cases.
