Job Title: Lab Technician – Day and Night Shifts Available Job Description

The Lab Technician plays a key role in supporting production operations within a regulated manufacturing and cleanroom environment. This position focuses on cleaning and sanitizing equipment, preparing and processing products using automated and ultrafiltration systems, performing routine measurements and additions, and maintaining accurate batch records and inventories. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to cGMP and SOP practices, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team on either day or night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production and laboratory equipment before and after use in accordance with established procedures.
• Support and carry out production operations in a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
• Make and verify connections on flow panels to ensure proper configuration for product processes.
• Perform pH and conductivity measurements on process solutions and document results accurately.
• Carry out chemical and buffer additions following Standard Operating Procedures and safety guidelines.
• Operate ultrafiltration systems as part of product purification processes.
• Initiate product processes on the Process Automated System, including chromatography operations using columns up to 80 cm.
• Take, label, and prepare product samples for testing and quality control.
• Order and maintain raw material inventories to support continuous production activities.
• Complete batch records and other required documentation in compliance with cGMP and SOP requirements.
• Assist in training other technician positions by sharing knowledge of procedures, equipment, and best practices.
• Use appropriate cleaning tools and chemicals to maintain cleanroom and production areas.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Work collaboratively with warehousing staff and other departments to resolve inventory and delivery discrepancies.
• Read and prepare reports in accordance with departmental SOPs.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pulling, and carrying materials as required by production and warehouse operations.
• Respond to variable workloads, interruptions, and occasional emergency shipments, deliveries, and receipts while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of a high school diploma; an associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a large-scale manufacturing environment regulated by cGMP and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Understanding of cGMP documentation practices and batch record completion.
• Ability to work in a controlled cleanroom environment.
• Capability to lift 50+ pounds and handle materials weighing up to 75 pounds as part of regular duties.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve established production goals.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for documentation and cross-functional communication.
• Reliability and willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, if needed.
• Ability to properly use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse settings.
• Comfort working around airborne particles, caustics, chemicals, fumes, human source products, and odors typical of manufacturing and laboratory environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a large-scale manufacturing cGMP-regulated environment is a plus but not required.
• Preference for candidates with plasma fractionation or purification experience.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical device, or medical assembly manufacturing environments.
• Experience working in cleanrooms, including cleaning, sanitization, and inspection activities.
• Exposure to general production, general labor, unloading, and heavy lifting in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience using calipers or similar measurement tools in production or assembly work.
• Experience with cleaning tools and chemicals is preferred but not required.
• Comfort working with SOP-driven processes and documentation.
• Ability to manage stressors related to variable delivery frequencies, volume of work, interruptions, and occasional emergency shipments.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing environment that is FDA and cGMP regulated, with operations carried out in controlled cleanroom, laboratory, and warehouse areas. The facility operates 24/7/365, and shifts follow a 5-on, 2-off pattern, typically in 2–3 day intervals. Available schedules include day and night shifts, such as 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday and weekends, with occasional after-hours and weekend work as needed. The position involves sitting at a desk approximately 10–15% of the time to operate computers, use related software, investigate and resolve inventory and delivery discrepancies, read and prepare reports, and communicate via email with warehousing staff and other departments. The remainder of the time is spent standing, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pulling, and carrying materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Work may require travel to offsite warehouses by personal automobile or company vehicle for training or operational needs. Employees work around airborne particles, caustics, chemicals, fumes, human source products, odors, and other conditions commonly found in manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse environments. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
