Dairy Cooler Warehouse & Maintenance Leader

The Dairy Cooler Warehouse & Maintenance leader position will be responsible for the day-to-day activities surrounding the milk production department's daily goals in organizing and maintaining products for timely picking and ultimate order delivery. This position involves working independently in the cooler warehouse managing each day's production and deliveries sorting in date order to match the first in first out (FIFO) order picking process. This position is pinnacle and works in coordination with other departments to ensure the timely delivery of date sensitive products. As with all departments within Toft Dairy, establishing and maintaining a safe and clean storage environment will be a priority. Hours begin at 2:00 am until production and inventory management is complete approximately 10 hours per day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. (Wednesday and weekends off).

Requirements:

• Maintain, organize and rotate inventory/stock daily during production in cooler so work orders and requests for products can be located and fulfilled timely and in FIFO (first in first out) order picking model.
• Constantly and consistently maintain all planned production and inventory management in accordance with the FIFO (first in first out).
• Follow established policies to produce a safe environment for inventory control, regulatory and quality food practices.
• Must be able to work around ingredients and/or finished products known to contain food allergens
• Ensure good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed throughout the facility
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, food safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Check daily temperatures are maintained and communicate with management if there is a deviation.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
• Ability to manage any conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner upholding customer product satisfaction to achieve company goals.
• Must be 18 or older, high school education or equivalent
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition and subtraction)
• Knowledge, practice and compliance of Food Safety principles, Good Manufacturing Practices and OSHA requirements
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Ability to work in cool temperatures and wet environment for sustained periods of time.

Qualifications:

• Order picking/warehousing skills preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and good work ethic
• Effective math skills' ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of weight and volume measurements.
• Ability to multi-task while remaining calm and working effectively under pressure
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language; speak, understand, and read written and verbal instructions, policies and procedures
• Ability to work well with others
• General Safety and Food Safety knowledge/experience preferred
• Positive attitude

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Toft Dairy contains office, manufacturing and outdoor workspaces where this position is required to access and work. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand, climb, bend, and twist; Frequently lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. is also required; occasional lifting/transferring of objects may be required with assistance up to 75 lbs. This position also requires a person to handle environments of different temperatures and with various food allergens present. This job is not for everyone as the work environment is fast-paced, physical, and performed in and out of a refrigerated warehouse.

• Must be able to withstand cold refrigeration temperatures for periods of time
• Must provide own cold weather apparel such as coat/jacket, sweatshirt, hat
• Must be able to lift 50lbs, occasionally up to 75lbs with assistance.
• Must be able to push/pull heavy loads (pallet jack, 2 - wheel hand cart)
• Standing for long periods of time are required
• Maintaining a clean work environment is critical
• Punctuality is required. Being routinely late to work and/or routinely calling off of work is unacceptable.
• Ability to perform required tasks safely, in a fast-paced work environment; ensuring food safety, quality and efficiency standards are achieved
