Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Experience: Preferred at least 2 years ICU experience License: RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor; ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor or ACLS-P - ACLS-Provisional (within 180 days) Must-Have: Ability to read, write, and speak English. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with customer service skills. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect. Excellent time management skills. Ability to practice nursing using evidence and analytical skills while possessing strong critical thinking skills. Description: The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality and safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The practice framework is guided by a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core values. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards as outlined by the relevant professional association. As members of the patient services team, individuals must uphold the voice of the patient while supporting service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: They perform the Nursing Process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Clinical care is delivered through evidence-based practices, utilizing analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure individualized care. Care coordination is achieved through effective partnerships recognizing that caring is central to optimal patient outcomes. Patient-centered care is provided in a manner that adapts service delivery according to population-specific characteristics. The RN Clinical Nurse partners with patients and significant others, using appropriate methods for communication and updates. They practice using current clinical standards and techniques. Coordination of safe, quality patient care delivery is essential. This includes diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods and the completion of timely documentation. The RN must promote a respectful and inclusive clinical environment. Demonstrating teamwork and collaboration is vital for this role. The RN practices in a fiscally responsible manner, promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members. They participate in and support performance improvement initiatives, actively engaging with stakeholders to promote quality patient care. Ongoing professional development is crucial. RNs complete all competency assessments and mandatory education requirements. They may serve as preceptors or mentors for other healthcare professionals to ensure a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment. Promoting evidence-based practice and nursing research is a key responsibility of the RN. They participate in activities such as evaluating patient care products to support decision-making processes. Upholding all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards is expected from the RN Clinical Nurse. Proactive planning for patient care across the continuum is required in direct patient care. The RN participates in developing protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes. Supporting the effective use of resources is essential in this role.
