Broadway Cannabis Market, where our motto is Premium Without the Price , is a recreational and medicinal cannabis dispensary chain across the greater Portland area. We are seeking a qualified applicant for a Lead Budtender/Keyholder position at our NW Downtown location. 

The Lead Budtender/Keyholder is responsible for ensuring all opening/closing procedures are executed completely, leading daily floor operations, and directly supporting customers and staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Core Budtender Duties:

• Greet customers, verify age/legal ID, and advise on suitable cannabis products based on customer needs, preferences, budgets, and strain effects.
• Educate customers on safe cannabis use and stay updated on new products, consumption methods, and industry trends.
• Process customer payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Correctly weigh, package, and label cannabis products in strict accordance with OLCC regulations.
• Ensure the dispensary floor and check-in area remain clean, organized, and well-stocked with cannabis and non-cannabis products.
• Process, fulfill, and close online and delivery orders.
• Monitor procedure updates and maintain daily communication on Slack.

Lead Budtender/Keyholder Leadership Duties:

• Complete opening/closing checklists and securely manage keys for the front door, cage, and product cabinets.
• Assign POS drawers to staff, ensure register assignment compliance, balance bank change, track change count logs, and execute end-of-shift cash/tip drops.
• Oversee customer returns, de-escalate difficult customer situations, and answer complex product questions.
• Manage break and lunch schedules for Budtenders and supervise staff in the absence of the Assistant or General Manager.
• Monitor stock levels continuously, enforce "End of Jar" and "New Strain on Floor" protocols, and communicate inventory needs to the Inventory Department.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must have a valid Oregon Marijuana Worker Permit (required).
• Must be 21 years of age or older (required);
• High school diploma or GED;
• Intermediate knowledge of cannabis;
• Computer software and data entry skills;
• Knowledge of OLCC sales limits;
• Previous Budtender experience;
• Ability to work quickly and accurately;
• Ability to stand for long periods of time;
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.;
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances without notice;
• Must be able to understand and comply with safety regulations;
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written;
