Accountant II

Job Description Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the incumbent, either personally or through others, will prepare and/or review all journal entries, prepare designated balance sheet account reconciliations, and perform other accounting-related work. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and update general ledger system and reports. Monitor fluctuations in departmental results and variances from budgets and prior years. Perform detailed account analyses as directed. Maintain Fixed Asset accounting system as applicable. Maintain records of company-owned or leased equipment, buildings, and other property. Conduct periodic inventories to keep records current. Maintain and reconcile uniform inventory, verifying capitalization and amortization each month as applicable. Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital and prepare financial reports to summarize the current and projected company financial positions. Coordinate information flow with other accounting departments and operating departments. Assist the Controller in budget preparation and maintenance. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts. Review journal entries prepared by Staff Accountants as needed. Adequately document journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist in hiring and training Staff Accountants and planning, assigning, and directing their work. Promote positive public/employee relations at all times. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, team member is regularly required to stand, walk, and demonstrate high-mobility for a majority of the shift. Must speak and listen to internal and external customer directions or orders in an atmosphere of varying background noise; must transit across surfaces that may alternate between carpeted and hard surfaces; must walk through slippery surfaces and/or sloping floors or stairs; must use hands to finger, handle or feel small objects such as paper or cloth; must reach with hands and arms overhead and from side to side. Must meet visual abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral vision and depth perception. Must transit between brightly lit and dimly lit areas, including flashing lights and computer or TV screens. Must bend, lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 20 pounds, must use, push and pull wheeled hand-carts or other equipment weighing in excess of 100 lbs.; must regularly bend, stoop, kneel, and twist at the waist. Must occasionally be exposed to bodily fluids, pet or service animals and strong odors. Must be exposed to tobacco and other second-hand smoke. Must occasionally use de-escalation techniques to resolve customer conflict. Must assist in customer evacuation in case of emergency. Requirements Must obtain gaming licensure by completing a mandatory background check with Seminole Gaming Compliance and Regulations prior to an offer being extended.
