Senior Accounting AdministratorThe Senior Accounting Administrator position is a fulltime exempt position. The individual is responsible for reviewing, organizing, and reconciling various accounting transactions and reconciling general ledger accounts in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), all applicable statutory, regulatory, policy and procedural requirements of Cummings Aerospace. The individual will report to the CEO.Roles & ResponsibilitiesProcess AP transactions and maintain vendor information in CostpointPerform General Ledger account reconciliations in support of month-end and year-end close reportingReview and process expense reports for accuracy and compliance with corporate guidelinesProcess payroll in Costpoint which includes: Semi-monthly payroll processing, coordinating with HR on payroll changes, complete and file all payroll taxes for Federal and various statesProvide reports, schedules and other supporting documentation for internal and/or external audit preparation as well as year-end auditsPerform specific month end duties including credit card and bank account reconciliationSupport the development and/or enhancement of corporate processes related to accountingInterface across the corporate operations functions including: Human Resources, Contracts, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Security, and OperationsAssisting with the implementation new internal controls to ensure compliance and enhance the workflow of the accounting departmentSkills and CompetenciesBachelor's degree in Accounting requiredA minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the DoD environmentExperience with payroll and payroll tax return processing for multiple states is requiredIn depth knowledge of government contracting, DCAA, FAR and FTRExperience with DELTEK Costpoint highly desiredStrong experience in general ledger, accounts payable, invoicing, payroll, and banking requiredExceptional written and verbal communication skillsMust possess strong time management and planning skills and able to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and assignments with minimal supervisionMust be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to meet strict deadlinesProficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand or sit for extended periods of timeAbility to bend, stretch and lift up to 10 pounds occasionallyLocationHuntsville, Alabama or Niceville, FloridaClearanceMust have the ability to successfully pass a background investigationCummings Aerospace provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
