Location: Nationwide Travel
Schedule: Full-Time + Overtime
Reports To: Project Manager
Travel: Typical 11-Day Rotations

Our mechanical crews install, modify, repair, and maintain industrial process piping , machine piping , utility piping , production equipment , and facility systems inside active manufacturing and industrial facilities.

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Pipefitter Foreman , Pipefitter/Welder Foreman , Mechanical Foreman , or Piping Foreman who can work independently, lead a field crew, interpret prints and field conditions, solve installation problems, and deliver safe, high-quality industrial work.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Pipefitter / Welder Foreman to lead a crew performing industrial pipefitting , process piping installation , utility piping , fabrication, welding, and mechanical installation projects in active manufacturing plants.

This is a true working foreman position. You will remain hands-on with pipe layout, fabrication, pipe fitting, welding, installation, troubleshooting, and repair while also planning daily work, assigning crew responsibilities, coordinating with the Project Manager and other trade foremen, enforcing safety and quality standards, and keeping projects on schedule and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, sequence, and directly supervise the daily work of pipefitters, welders, apprentices, and helpers to meet project schedules, productivity goals, and quality expectations.
• Serve as the crew's primary field contact for the Project Manager , customers, supervisors, and other trade foremen; communicate job progress, manpower requirements, delays, constraints, and schedule impacts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, piping drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and field measurements .
• Perform and supervise industrial piping layout, fabrication, installation, modification, repair, and maintenance .
• Verify pipe routing, measurements, elevations, fit-up, supports, connections, and installation quality before project sign-off.
• Lead hands-on pipe fitting , cutting, measuring, fitting, fabrication, and welding activities alongside the crew.
• Fabricate and weld carbon steel piping and stainless steel piping using MIG welding, TIG welding, and Stick welding/SMAW as required by the project.
• Work with and direct installation of PVC, CPVC, copper, galvanized pipe, stainless steel, black steel, and carbon steel piping systems .
• Utilize industrial pipe joining methods including ProPress, MegaPress, Victaulic/grooved piping, threaded pipe, soldering, brazing, and welded piping systems .
• Perform pipe fit-up , alignment, welding preparation, and installation of valves, fittings, flanges, supports, and related piping components.
• Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, inspection, troubleshooting, modification, and repair of installed piping systems.
• Identify and correct leaks, improper fit-up, alignment problems, system deficiencies, and field installation issues.
• Enforce jobsite safety requirements including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) , confined-space procedures , hot-work requirements , PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
• Conduct pre-task planning, job hazard analysis, safety meetings, and toolbox talks with field crews.
• Monitor crew hours, productivity, materials, tools, equipment, and project requirements; identify shortages or scope changes and communicate them to project leadership.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate apprentices, junior pipefitters, welders, and other tradespeople while helping develop future crew leaders.
• Coordinate closely with millwrights, electricians, plumbers, controls technicians, riggers, and project management on integrated machine installation, equipment relocation, plant shutdown, and industrial construction projects .
• Maintain professional communication with customers and other trades while representing the project team in the field.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on industrial pipefitting and/or welding experience in manufacturing, process, mechanical contracting, or heavy-industrial environments.
• Previous Foreman, Working Foreman, Lead Pipefitter, Lead Welder, Leadman, Crew Leader, or supervisory experience directing a multi-person field crew.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, sequence, assign, and supervise work while maintaining an industrial project schedule.
• Strong hands-on experience with industrial process piping , machine piping , and utility piping systems .
• Ability to read and work from blueprints, piping drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and field measurements .
• Strong knowledge of pipe layout, pipe fabrication, pipe fitting, fit-up, installation, modification, and repair .
• Experience working with PVC, CPVC, copper, galvanized, stainless steel, carbon steel, and black steel piping .
• Working knowledge of ProPress, MegaPress, Victaulic/grooved, threaded, soldered, brazed, and welded pipe systems .
• Demonstrated industrial welding and pipe fit-up capabilities appropriate for field installation work.
• Experience with MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding used in industrial piping applications.
• Ability to perform pressure testing, system inspection, leak detection, troubleshooting, modification, and piping repair .
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with Project Managers, customers, foremen, and skilled trades .
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make practical field decisions when conditions differ from drawings or plans.
• Ability to work extended shifts, overtime, at heights, and in active industrial environments.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability and willingness to perform nationwide travel , including overnight and weekend assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior formal experience as an Industrial Pipefitter Foreman, Piping Foreman, Mechanical Foreman, Welding Foreman, Lead Pipefitter, or Lead Welder .
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Confined Space Entry certification.
• AWS welding certification or other applicable welding credentials.
• Demonstrated TIG pipe welding and/or Stick pipe welding proficiency.
• Experience with machine/process piping , plant relocations , equipment installations , utility tie-ins , wastewater systems , chillers , or chemical/process piping systems .
• Experience working during industrial shutdowns, plant outages, equipment relocations, or facility expansion projects .
• Forklift , aerial lift , or rigging training.
• Experience coordinating multiple skilled trades on industrial projects.
