This position will be part of the AFLS curriculum delivery team through developing meaningful activities and instruction to reinforce skills acquisition and maintenance. Responsible for planning and implementing Community Inclusion/Outreach opportunities for the Villagers./ppRequired Qualifications/ppBachelors Degree/ppMust be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Drivers License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements./ppMust meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting./ppMust undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis./ppMajor Duties and Responsibilities/ppPlans, instructs, demonstrates and assists Villagers in performing appropriate recreational and physical fitness activities for wellness and leisure skills development./ppAssists with the development of person centered training routines to be followed in the fitness center./ppWorks in collaboration with therapy group to maintain training routines./ppResponsible for adapting activities to meet the physical and developmental abilities of all Villagers./ppWorks with other Program Center areas to plan on and off campus activities./ppResponsible for documenting Villager activities in the electronic record system./ppActs as agency coordinator for Special Olympics; plans and chaperones all Special Olympics/Team Activities events in which the Villagers participate./ppPlans and/or assists in planning parties, field trips and special activities to include monitoring of Villagers at these events./ppPlaces requisitions for recreational equipment and materials needed for activities and special events that are within budget./ppProvide feedback for Care Plan meetings for Villager, evaluating and giving input regarding Villagers progress and goal setting as needed./ppAssists with maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the Program Center and recreation equipment./ppAssists Villagers with personal hygiene as needed./ppAttends all required and assigned trainings and meetings./ppProvides engaging programming on assigned Saturdays./ppProvides monitoring at dining hall as assigned./ppMust be available to work nights and weekends./ppPerforms other duties that may be necessary in the best interest of Annandale at Suwanee, Inc. to meet the personal service and care of the Villagers./ppReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities./ppPersonal Skills and Traits Desired/Physical Requirements/pol start=5liAbility to read, write, and speak English./liliAbility to count, add, and subtract./liliAbility to problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists./liliAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form./liliWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands; use fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear./liliThe employee frequently is required to sit, stand, and walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl.
